YARN: Caron International’s Simply Soft: #9748 Rubine Red (A), #0017 Lemon (B)
CROCHET HOOK: One size US F-5 (3.75 mm), or size to obtain gauge.
ADDITIONAL MATERIALS: Yarn needle,Two 6mm safety eyes, Fiberfill stuffing, Stitch markers
GAUGE: In pattern stitch, 20 sts and 24 rows = 4″/10 cm. Exact gauge is not critical for this project, stitching should be tight.
STITCHES USED: Chain (ch), Single crochet (sc)
SPECIAL TERMS: sc2tog: Single crochet 2 together—Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (two loops on hook), insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through all three loops on hook.
NOTE: Do not join rounds. Place a marker in the last stitch of round and move up as rounds progress.
AMIGURUMI
Center
With B, ch 2.
Round 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join—6 sc. Place marker in last stitch.
Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around—12 sc.
Round 3: *Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from * around—18 sc.
Round 4: *Sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from * around—24 sc.
Rounds 5-8: Sc in each sc around. Place eyes on rose. With yarn needle and A, back st mouth on rose as pictured. Stuff the amigurumi and continue to stuff as work progresses.
Round 13: *Sc2tog over next 2 sts, sc in next 2 sc; repeat from * around—18 sc.
Round 14: *Sc2tog over next 2 sts, sc in next sc; repeat from * around—12 sc.
Round 15: [Sc2tog over next 2 sts] around—6 sc.
Fasten off leaving a long sewing length. With yarn needle and sewing length, weave through final rnd of sts, pull tight and secure.
Small Petal (make 3)
With A, leaving a long sewing length, ch 2.
Row 1: 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join, turn—4 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn—6 sc.
Row 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn—8 sc
Rows 4-8: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.
Row 9: Ch 1, sc2tog over next 2 sts, sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sts, turn—6 sc.
Row 10: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.
Row 11: Ch 1, sc2tog over next 2 sts, sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sts, turn—4 sc.

With A, leaving a long sewing length, ch 2.
